Thank Karen – I read this article about a month ago during the preparation for my vacation in Mauritius, and now I am back with some tips.

My name is Michael Williams and I just came back from a 10 days trip to Mauritius.

I can only agree and confirm what that Mauritius is heaven on Earth. We visited some of the beaches you mentioned and they are just beautiful and the people are really the nicest i have ever met while traveling.

The only bad thing is coming back home and to reality – it is very hard thing to do especially after traveling to Mauritius.

During our stay (I traveled with my wife and 2 kids), we wanted to go on few excursions. We planned to go on at least one diving trip, a catamaran cruise, go on the submarine trip and to find some additional excursions upon our arrival to Mauritius.

From my experience, after doing a serious market research, and of course, after booking and going on the excursions, I can recommend to book the excursions on this website: http://www.mauritiusattractions.com
They offer a very big selection of excursions and tours, it was easy to order all the excursions we were looking for, and their rates are very good - far better then with any other tour agency we found while in Mauritius (we stayed in Grand Baie).

I can also inform you that while we were in Mauritius we booked few other excursions (south-east tour, hiking trip and swimming with dolphin boat trip) through the hotel we stayed in, but later when, we arrived back home we found that the hotel really over charge us for these attractions and that you can find them for about 100% less on that website.

I hope this helps. Michael.

Mauritius is a multicultural island.
Hats off to the inhabitants of Mauritius as they have known how to maintain peace and live together with their neighbours of different religions.
Rare are cases of racial disputes in Mauritius.
This is what enhances the beauty of Mauritius making it a peaceful and enjoyable place to live.
In fact, while in Mauritius, tourists would be able to experience the numerous festivals that take place.
